Zoey Redbird, like her? Hate her? Want me to work on something or pull back on anything? Is she too happy? Too depressed? Too strong? Too weak?

If you have anything to say about Zoey, toss me a line here. You can also contact me on AIM, I only ask that you're polite about it.

Tulsa House of Night

The Tulsa House of Night, as it appears in the House of Night series, is the very real location of Cascia Hall Prepatory School.

In the books, there is a great stone fence that encloses the property, an old bent over oak tree that allows students to climb and get over the fence, a rope to help them get back in, a trap door near the eastern wall, stables (cared for by Lenobia) and a temple dedicated to the worship of Nyx. Above it are the High Priestesses quarters. The school is lighted entirely by oil lamps, artificial lighting hurts the eyes of the fledglings and Vampyres.

"What is known today as the House of Night was built in the neo-French-Norman style, with stones imported from Europe. It originated in the mid-1920's as an Augustine monastery for the People of Faith. Eventually it was converted into Cascia Hall, a private preparatory school for affluent human teenagers."

Tulsa Depot/Tunnels

This variegated Bedford stone depot, designed by R. C. Stephens, was completed in 1931. The exterior of this impressive example of Art Deco Architecture reveals the inspiration of machinery as a theme for geometric designs. The desire for machine-like geometric clarity evident in this building became something of a mania in the 1930s. The Depot serviced as many as thirty-six trains a day in its prime. However, rail travel diminished as the years rolled by and need for the Depot’s services decreased. It ceased operation in 1967. The tunnels were used during prohibition times and have since been redone to make the fledglings that currently live there more comfortable after fleeing from the House of Night.

Grandma Redbird's Lavender Farm

Right off the Muskogee Turnpike, along a long packed dirt road is Grandma Redbird's home, built from raw Oklahoma stone in 1942. There's a comfortable parch and large windows and sits between two lavender fields. There's a little deer path at the edge of the northern-most lavender field that leads up to the bluffs where Grandma Redbird often picks wildflowers. The path eventually gets steep and rocky, which is difficult to traverse when you're coughing so hard that you can't see straight.

Broken Arrow South Intermediate High School

Zoey went to school here when she was human. Several years were spent here watching a couple kids get Marked, almost-dating a football player and hanging out with her former bff Kayla. It's just a typical high school, but here, have a PICTURE.

Isle of Skye

The Isle of Skye where Queen Sgiach reigns, her affinity to the land that makes up the isle. She once trained Guardians there until she broke from the Vampyre High Council to create a separate way of living. Warriors and Guardians alike thrive their, no humans in sight and live within her great castle. There's a Hanging Tree on the grounds (a hawthorne tree and a rowan tree grown together, this originated the saying "tying the knot")
